FA breaks new ground after 148 years!

The FA has taken a significant step to break the all-male dominance of the organisation with the appointment of a woman to its board of directors; it has only taken 148 years!
Millwall's Heather Rabbatts takes on the role of non-executive director and this will hopefully bring some diversity to a much criticised FA management hierarchy. The FA's PR blurb talks about this representing 'a significant change to our governance structures'.
Let's hope this is the case and not an example of 'going through the motions'. It will be interesting to see how things do develop; in the meantime it seems like an encouraging way to end the year particularly against a media backdrop of issues surrounding racism in football.
