How much does it cost?

The cost of playing for a particular team can vary. Some teams will aim to provide football at the lowest possible cost, others may well charge more but provide more as well. This might mean that your child gets a tracksuit or rain jacket as part of the 'deal'. Other clubs might include the cost of indoor winter training facilities; there will be many different permutations.

Clubs will always be faced with rising costs. There is an increasing onus on clubs to ensure that all the coaches are qualified and CRB checked; there is also the need to regularly invest in new kit and equipment. It doesn't ever stop so you might find costs rise year on year. Those clubs with a healthy fundraising ability may well be able to cover off many of the costs without continually having to ask parents for more.

Most teams will charge at a level that covers the cost of running the team. This will probably involve paying a registration fee at the start of the season and then playing fees on a match by match basis. The reality is that it is unlikely to be more than a few £'s per week, but do check what the cost is for your child to join the club before they sign on the dotted line.
