Football in the Community
Football in the Community is a well established charity programme that operates in many locations. It is quite broad based in using football to reach out to thousands of children and adults through schools, community groups and voluntary organisations.
You'll frequently find the local professional club is at the heart of FITC initiatives in your area. This isn't necessarlly the case, but the programme does draw on the facilities and expertise that the established football clubs can provide.
Typically FITC will provide sporting activities as part of a school curriculum (or outside school hours), kids courses for all ages and abilities during holidays and term time and advanced coaching to enable players to progress to the highest levels. There will also be programmes designed specifically to help disabled players get more from their football and a wide range of projects that are designed to meet the needs of the local community.
